Artist Spotlight: Martha Schermerhorn

Martha Schermerhorn has been leading book arts workshops in the Rochester region for over 15 years. Her workshops engage children, youth and adults at venues that include schools, art stores, galleries and public libraries. Martha earned a Graphic Arts Certificate in 1990 and was awarded a BS in Book Arts from Empire State College in 2008. Her work has appeared in galleries nationwide, including the Memorial Art Galleries Finger Lakes Exhibition. For the past seven years, Martha has been the Book Arts Artist in Residence for the Fairport, NY High School Senior Honors Art Program. Martha enjoys the creative process and helping other people realize their artistic visions. Examples of her work and student books can be seen on her website.
